About

I’m a software engineer combining 6+ years of full-stack experience with hands-on work in applied AI and blockchain. At Lucence Diagnostics, I grew from Software Engineer to Software Engineering Lead, building serverless applications on AWS and GCP and helping cut laboratory turnaround time from 14 to 5 days.

My recent work in AI, computer vision, and blockchain has broadened my technical skills and prepared me to tackle new engineering challenges. In my academic projects, I built AI-enabled applications and blockchain applications. I trained a ResNet-50 model for vehicle damage classification and integrated explainable AI (XAI) with Grad-CAM into a React/FastAPI prototype. I also fine-tuned Donut, a document understanding transformer, to extract medical-form data and used Solidity smart contracts on Polygon PoS to record tamper-evident audit hashes while keeping medical data off-chain. This work spans computer vision, explainable AI, human review of model outputs, blockchain-based data integrity, and privacy-aware data handling.

I moved from marine engineering into software in 2017. Working across marine engineering, semiconductor manufacturing, and healthcare taught me to learn unfamiliar domains and adapt to different teams. I value attention to detail, collaborative problem-solving, and mentoring junior developers.

I’ve held the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification since 2021 and am pursuing a Master of Engineering in Software Systems Engineering at the University of Regina. I want to keep learning, take on new challenges, and be part of a positive team where my work makes workflows easier.

Experience

Lucence Diagnostics

Singapore

Jul 2022 — Jul 2025

Software Engineering Lead

  • Designed and deployed serverless web applications using React, Python, AWS Lambda and Google Apps Script, automating laboratory workflows and reducing turnaround time from 14 to 5 days.
  • Upgraded web application security architecture with external auditors, passing third-party penetration testing to support U.S. healthcare partnership.
  • Built an in-house AWS data synchronization pipeline for genomic sequencing machines, enabling high throughput transfers at lower operating costs without relying on costly AWS direct connect service.
  • Mentored junior developers through code reviews and personalized learning plans, enabling them to learn the software stack within one month and handle development tasks with minimal supervision.

Nov 2018 — Jun 2022

Software Engineer

  • Developed and tested full-stack applications and microservices using React and Python to automate laboratory workflows.
  • Streamlined laboratory report delivery through a workflow requiring medical director approval before release to reduce report-sending errors and manual processing.
  • Built and deployed a COVID-19 testing platform prototype in three days; the platform passed a Ministry of Health audit and later supported 2,000 reports per day, up from 10.
  • Resolved software defects through cross-functional troubleshooting to support reliable healthcare operations.
